The Venue – Palais du Peuple
The Palais du Peuple is the current location of the National Assembly and Senate of the Democratic Republic of Congo. This vast building was constructed during the period of 1975 – 1979. The Palais du Peuple boasts three large conference halls, a dining area and internet facilities. It is located in the centre of Kinshasa, in close proximity to the Stade des Martyrs.
About Kinshasa
Kinshasa is the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the largest city. The city is located on the River Congo and has a population of over 8 million inhabitants ( third largest city on the African continent)
It is thought to be the second largest Francophone city in the world after Paris (although if population growth continues it will overtake Paris by 2020)
